Question about this nest I’ve been watching all summer.

So it’s been on my porch all summer since I noticed it back in April when it only had one wasp.
I noticed a couple days ago they are all bunched up on one single spot and the rest of the nest looks like it’s old and falling apart.
Just wondering what’s going on with them. Did they get attacked or something or is this normal late summer behavior??
They are yellow and black stripped paper wasps and I’m in the southern USA.

Been watching these wasps on my porch all summer. Why do people hate wasps SO much??

They haven’t so much as looked at me all summer. I don’t get the hate these guys get.

Offering a ride from Atlanta or anywhere on the way!!

Anyone need a ride from North Georgia or anywhere on the way??

I’m trying to give someone a ride to and from Forest in exchange for a wristband. I’ve done Bonnaroo 15 times and only got to do Forest one time in 2023. It would be the most epic road trip ever!! Let’s make it happen! Happy Forest all!!!

To the rad group front row center at Ke$ha..

You guys were all so cool. I forgot his name but one guy was dressed like an old lady with a fat ass. He dropped his phone in the mud and we all said “wipe it on the shirt!!!” He smears it down the front of the old lady costume shirt. I have never laughed sooo hard at a show.
Also one of you bought me a drink. It was a half half vodka ice tea tall boy thingy and it was phenomenal!!! Thanks so much for awesome memories guys!!!! HAPPY ROO!!!

Btw this is STOKES. The guy wearing the bath robe with the pot leaf on the back.
