Vending machine saved me
Had one of the dumbest but weirdly wholesome moments in tokyo recently 😭 my phone battery died during a rainy night and i was standing outside a station completely lost trying not to panic. this older guy in a business suit noticed me struggling and pointed me toward one of those vending machines with portable chargers while using maybe five english words total lmao. somehow we still figured it out and he even waited to make sure i got the right cable. back home lately people barely make eye contact anymore so the small kindness honestly stuck with me more than some big tourist attraction. i ended up walking back to my hotel in the rain eating warm canned corn soup from the vending machine like an exhausted little goblin. not even joking that soup tasted incredible at the time. now i kinda regret spending too much of the trip rushing between famous spots instead of slowing down more. next visit i wanna leave room for random moments instead of overplanning every hour.
For people who’ve gone multiple times how much stuff do you actually schedule each day. do you build in wandering time on purpose or just wing it completely? trying to avoid turning my next trip into an exhausted speedrun 😃
