
Portal TV: Spinning timeout trying to reconnect WhatApp after logging out
Has anyone experienced a problem of logging out of WhatsApp on your portalTV and not being able to log back in?
Previously using my iPhone hotspot I was able to get the QR code and successfuly connect my portalTV to WhatsApp. Sadly, now when I was am trying to reconnect my WhatsApp after logging out. I am now only encountering the spinning timeout, which ends with the message of
This is surprising because I am following all the required steps.
- iPhone Hotspot connected to cellular only
- portalTV is connected to iPhone
- WhatsApp is open and running on iPhone
I've tried factory resetting my portalTV and delete/re-download app on iPhone, and can confirm that the portalTV has internet because Facebook logs in and checking for updates also succeeds
I've also linked my WhatsApp to my Facebook/Instagram accounts.
I'm really sad that somehow the device went from working to not working without any change other than logging out of my WhatsApp. A very sad turn of events as my family loves this device.
