Wounds

What are your thoughts on how Jack Kilmer and Paris Jackson's joint project, Wounds, was received and how it will be perceived down the line? In my opinion, the reception will be negative, because audiences won't focus on their acting abilities—they’ll just label them as 'nepo babies.' Paris will likely bear the brunt of the criticism, even though her acting isn't nearly as bad as people claim. In fact, many people watch her projects without even realizing it's her until after the credits roll, just like what happened with Swarm. She actually received plenty of praise for her role in American Horror Stories and did a solid job in other films too. I really wish people would evaluate her based on professional standards rather than whose daughter she happens to be, but unfortunately, this bias doesn't just stop at her acting career.

I love Paris Jackson, but we need to talk about how she handles her talent and career...

Hi everyone! I'm a huge Paris Jackson fan, but lately, there are a few things that honestly frustrate me about how she handles her music, and I'm curious to hear your thoughts on this.

  1. She incredibly underestimates her own talent

In her recent interview, she mentioned that she doesn't consider herself a singer. I think that's a huge understatement! Her voice might not be as "polished" as some others, but she has an incredibly beautiful, unique, and distinct tone—she absolutely has a voice! I don't understand why she puts herself down so much and fails to see her own talent.

  1. She neglects her best songs during live shows

I honestly don't get her setlists. "Siren" is such a stunning, beautiful song. "Bang Bang" is sexy, energetic, and would be absolutely perfect live. And of course, the gorgeous "American Dream" is another hidden gem. Instead of doing covers, I'd much rather hear her perform her own original music at concerts. Don't get me wrong, a cover or two is fine, but I want to hear *her* work! If I'm not mistaken, she pretty much only plays "Bandaid" from her debut album. Why hide her best tracks?

I love her artistry and her personality, but I just wish she was a bit more confident and trusted her own work more.

Which song would you like to hear from her?

Paris Jackson and Stella Lefty

I need to vent about this because the recent VMA nominations and the Billboard Grammy predictions are genuinely infuriating.

Stella Lefty just bagged nominations for Best New Artist and Best Country (for Boston), and the industry is pushing her heavily as a 2027 Grammy contender. Meanwhile, genuinely authentic artists are getting completely ignored by the mainstream machine.

And before anyone starts in the comments: yes, I know Paris Jackson is a nepo baby too. Being Michael Jackson’s daughter obviously gives you a massive platform. But people completely look past the fact that she actually has real talent. And more importantly? She doesn’t steal. Sure, she has openly admitted to being inspired by many different artists, but she has always been honest and proud about her influences instead of trying to pass someone else’s work off as her own.

Compare that to Stella Lefty, who is the textbook definition of a billionaire-funded industry plant (her dad is the co-founder of Groupon). The marketing push behind her is insane, but the blatant plagiarism is what kills me. Boston practically stole its entire identity from Noah Kahan’s Stick Season, and her debut album Long Way Home has earned her the nickname "Stella Thefty" for allegedly ripping off multiple other artists.

Paris Jackson could have easily used her name to demand the biggest pop producers in the world and manufacture cheap Billboard hits. Instead, she chose the hard, respectable route. She plays melancholic indie-folk/alternative rock, performs raw acoustic sets, and writes deeply personal songs about grief. Her music is genuinely beautiful, raw, and honest because she creates for the art itself, not for the charts.

Yet, who gets the VMA nominations and the massive industry push? The billionaire-backed TikTok sensation with active plagiarism scandals, while the actual artist who respects the craft is sidelined because she doesn't buy her way onto the charts.

It’s just so depressing to see that the modern music industry cares purely about artificial hype rather than actual talent and artistic integrity.

What are your thoughts?
