Need Some Advice

About a month ago I rolled my ankle at work. I work in construction industry. At that moment I felt a quick sensation go up to my knee and a little numbness for a second. I didn’t think much of it at the time however, that night I felt some knee pain. On my site it’s a normal thing to hit yourself or feel some pain from time to time so I didn’t think much of it. I continued working for about 2 weeks while wearing a knee brace (I wear a heavy harness and walk all day 15k+ steps a day while carrying material) and my coworkers all knew I was in pain. I assumed it would just go away on its own. At the end of the work day, on day 13 after incident, I told my safety what had happened and that the knee pain continued to worsen. I went to urgent care (my own choice as I was told to get it checked). That same day I went to urgent care and got X-rays done. The next day (day 14) I get a call saying I had a joint effusion and recommended I see an orthopedic. That same day I made an incident report at work (exactly two weeks after incident). My employer refused to send me to a doctor and told me I had to do it on my own insurance since I had already went to urgent care.

I continued to work for another week in pain (but on a lighter duty but not quite light just less than normal). On day 21 after incident I struggled to close my knee past 90 degrees or fully extend it and was receiving no help from employer so I made an appointment to an orthopedic. I went and put my insurance down. I saw an orthopedic doctor on day 22 and was told I couldn’t work until further evaluation and scheduled an MRI. I ended up getting an MRI done (also under my insurance). I finally received a WC claim number. MRI summary seems to show that I have a Bucket Handle Tear. I’m supposed to have a follow up appointment in a few days and am lost as how to proceed. I’ve been out of work for over a week now.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.
