Croatian Schengen visa rejected
I’m a Palestinian student studying in Istanbul Turkey.
I applied for a short 8 day trip to split, Croatia on August 18 till August 26th, and after 20 calendar days from the submission, I was rejected.
I am being sponsored by my mom and have really strong ties in Turkey (title deeds, enrolled in an expensive university with my brother, my whole immediate family lives here, my cousin also lives here, been living here for 8 years with documented proof)
The documents I submitted were
•Cover letter
•booking.com accommodation reservation
•flight tickets from Turkish airlines
•sponsor cover letter and her bank statements that shows 10.1k usd in savings and rental contract of one of our rented properties.
•her title deeds
•university enrollment documents
•day to day itinerary
•my own bank statements
•residential history.
•sponsor letter of commitment from the notary
•travel insurance
•past visas
•visa application form
Reason of refusal: reason number 2: justification of the purpose and conditions of the intended stay was not provided
Reason number 11: there are reasonable doubts as to the reliability of the statements made as regards the actual purpose and conditions of the stay.
I don’t know why I was rejected but a small reason could be because when they officer called on the phone and asked “why did I pick Croatia?” I said it’s because a Croatian friend recommended it to me. But I didn’t mention this in any document because I didn’t think it was necessary.
Is it a good idea to reapply or appeal since the reasons for rejection are minor and something to do with ties and finances?
Also this is my first Schengen application
