NOS, my J1 program was funded by home country government. No lawyer used. Not from one of the 75 countries. Spent an accumulated period of ~18 months in my home country.

SOR: H1B job offer

My timeline was as follows:

Dec 18, 2025 - application showed up on DOS website
Mar 5, 2026 - NOS acknowledged
April 20, 2026 - sponsor views received
April 21, 2026 - additional information requested
May 22 - FR received

Still no update on the DOS website (as of May 9th)

Word of (unsolicited) advice: if you feel like enough time has passed, do not hesitate to send a polite follow up email

If anyone has advice on how to navigate next steps with the USCIS, please share.

Also, I’m curious to know how often you guys send follow up emails to the DOS..

Also, is it normal for the website to be down for this long?

Hope everyone is ok despite the delays.

I keep trying to check the status of my application but the date it shows is not changing. It keeps saying the status was last updated on May 9, 2026. Is anyone else experiencing the same?
