Taking the exam without the official course

Hi everyone,

I'm in a bit of an unusual situation.

My employer enrolled me for the GIAC GSEC exam, but instead of providing the official SEC401 course, we were only given the LinkedIn Learning GSEC Cert Prep course (around 10 hours).

Unfortunately, several months have passed, our exam vouchers still haven't been issued, and the LinkedIn course is no longer available, so I don't even have access to the material anymore.

I've been trying to find legitimate study resources, but I've noticed that unlike certifications such as Security+, there doesn't seem to be an official public blueprint, recommended study guide, or much third-party material.

I've also read several comments saying that GSEC is heavily based on the SEC401 books, which worries me because I don't have access to them.

So I have a few questions:

  • Has anyone here passed the GSEC without the SEC401 books?
  • If so, what legitimate resources did you use?
  • Are there any books, courses or practice exams you'd recommend?
  • Is it realistic to pass relying only on third-party resources, or are the official SANS materials effectively required?

I'm not looking for dumps or leaked questions—only legitimate study resources and advice from people who have taken the exam.

Thanks!

Coil whine on a new 9070xt nitro+

Hi Everyone, hi recently bought a Sapphire Nitro+ 9070XT on Amazon, and i am having coil whine issues.
It's strange because i tried a few games that i had already installed before my old gpu died with different result

Devil May Cry 5 for example, capped at 120 fps at 1080p (i only have a 1080p monitor for now) is completely fine, and if I render textures at 200% resolutionm energy consumption increse to 200w/250w, still no coil whine at all. Great. coil whine only showed on loading screen where i was doing 2000FPS lol, but its not a problem.

SPACE MARINE 2 ultra preset, 60fps, 1080p, small coil whine, but increasing limit to just 90fps it gets crazy.
one weird thing, if its capped at 60fps and i tab out of the game, coil whine gets worse with this specific game, while others get better. it only hapopens with 60fps cap.

THE FINALS is crazy, I ended up having coil whine even at 60fps cap with low details and FSR on in 1080p, if i increase cap at 120fps and energy consupmtion goes above ~100w, coil whine increases a lot. the coil is so high i can hear it with my headphones on, if there is nothing playing on them...

i tried a few games for now, but seems like DMC5 is the only game where demanding more resources doesnt create coil whine in any situation(aside from loading but that's understandable), every other game just generates coil whine after going over 100w consumption.

outside of games, i made a stress test on Adrenalin and even at 330w the gpu was incredibly silent.

no issues found outside of coil whine.

all the test where made in 1080p, but you can understand that i havent bought such a gpu with a 9800x3d just to play 60fps low details...

the question is, should i return this gpu? i have 2 weeks to do so, and in that case, is that a known issues with sapphire and coil whine? or am i just very unlucky? do you have any advice on which custom should i buy?
