Should I stay or should I go?

Some people have been bullying me here…waaaaaa!!

Others are really nice and friendly.

I’m unsure what to do now. I can make more Blot posts or just disappear forever.

Should we have a vote?

How much Blot is too much? I can go on forever making these posts.

I have personal links to the bloke, I meet people all the time who know him, I chat regularly in real life with fans and ex-fans, I’m into political philosophy and can analyse Blot deeply and dissect his character.

But two things concern me.

The first is obvious: I don’t want to hog this forum and piss people off.

I’d rather see other people contributing more. I’m aware that I’m posting a lot and in danger of overdoing it.

The second reason for concern may surprise some people: Blot’s vulnerability.

Yes he’s a tough guy on the surface. But beneath the hard-man image there’s a very fragile personality struggling to deal with a reality he doesn’t understand.

I don’t wish to harm Blot in any way. I don’t want to damage his mental health. My only aim is to change him in a positive way.

Because I truly believe a better Blot is possible.

But how much Reddit is too much for Blot?

We know it affects him. But does it affect him in a good way?

We should care about that. We shouldn’t just rip the piss out of him. And nobody should be attacking his family FFS!!

Anyway, am I going on a bit?

Do you have a friend like Blot?

I think it’s probably the case that most of us know someone just like Blot. I don’t mean they go camping. I‘m talking about the opinions and child-like behaviour.

A mate of mine from the past recently got in touch. His adult son hooked us up again after seeing some old photos of us from the 90’s, then a couple of weeks of Whatsapp communication ensued.

Back in the day I loved this guy. He was one of the funniest people I’ve ever known. He never took life seriously and made everything a joke. I had some amazing times with him (and the rest of the group we were part of).

But towards the end of the 90’s I began to change. I was developing an interest in societal matters and making the world a better place. Then 9/11 happened and my curiosity exploded and I went off on a great educational journey.

This brought me into conflict with friends I’d known for years. We’d never clashed politically, but suddenly an immense seriousness took over and we found that our ideas were not compatible.

My life became deeply political as I entered a long phase of profound study and experience within the working class movement.

My friend, by contrast, got into remote-controlled aeroplanes and racism.

We maintained the friendship with occasional get-togethers, but eventually it became untenable as my pal took onboard extreme right-wing views.

Arguments replaced laughter and we fell out and didn’t speak at all for many years.

Then came the Whatsapp reunion and a very enjoyable nostalgia trip. We chatted about old times and laughed once again. It was great, for a while.

But it didn’t last. He sent me a link to a Tommy Robinson video and I responded with anti-fascist information.

And we realised that whatever connection we had was now history and couldn’t be revived.

Which is a great shame.

Two working class blokes with great love for each other and a past forever entwined, but driven apart by opposing political outlooks.

No wonder the rich get richer at our expense!

So, who are the ‘wet wipes’ and ‘soy boys’?

In Blot‘s world it’s anyone who disagrees with his ridiculous right-wing views and bigoted catchphrases.

But those terms are generally used by politically uneducated people to describe anyone of greater political awareness.

It’s supposed to be insulting. They‘re saying their target is weak and cowardly and lacks masculinity.

In reality there is nothing weak or cowardly or inherently feminine about people with advanced political ideas.

As someone with years of experience I can testify to the fact that leftists vary massively, and some are very tough and unbelievably brave individuals.

Once I was part of a crowd blocking a Nazi event and the police had us trapped and were reading us the riot act through a megaphone. They we’re about to charge at us with horses and dogs and batons and lots of violence.

There was no way out of this situation: brick walls to our right and thick bushes to our left.

But one guy stepped forward and offered his body as a plank to hold down the bushes so people could escape into the fields beyond and avoid a battering or arrest.

Sacrifices like that are the norm on the left. Socialists tend to think collectively and put the movement before their own personal interests.

Just look at the volunteers from Britain who went to fight fascism in the Spanish civil war while the British government did nothing.

Bravery beyond belief!

And it’s not just the men. Left-wing women can be the most courageous of souls.

One of my all-time heroes is Rosa Luxemburg, a Polish Jew who led a working class uprising in Germany in 1919 and was captured, shot in the head and thrown into a canal.

People like Rosa who stand up for the poor and oppressed are the real legends.

But of course history is written by the victors, so we are fed nonsense and conditioned to worship the rich and powerful.

This ideological manipulation makes slaves out of potential working class rebels.

Blot is one of those indoctrinated slaves. He could devote his life to bringing down the oppressors, but instead he picks on poor immigrants and gay people.

And then he calls the rest of us wet wipes and soy boys.

Blot, you’re such a contradiction!

Most of us will remember when Blot kept politics out of his videos. I think it was part of the appeal for lots of people. Having that pure escapism away from the realities of the capitalist world was refreshing.

But somehow politics gradually crept into Blot’s material. Maybe he ran out of things to say and decided consciously to express his views. Or maybe he was triggered by some cheeky lefty who disagreed with what he called the ‘spacker walk’ 🤔

Whatever. Politics became a part of the Bigoted Lads On Tour Show.

Blot would have a go at Labour leaders, prominent leftists, the whole concept of socialism/Marxism, gay and trans folk, the disabled, immigrants and asylum seekers, black and Asian people in general, the Green Party, climate activists, etc, etc.

And the original appeal of his videos was lost.

Indeed this Reddit forum exists because of the explicit right-wing messages that ruined Blot’s channel.

But some of us tried to help Blot get beyond right-wing backwardness, rather than give up on him completely.

What a waste of time that was!

So, let‘s see exactly how much interest we all pay to the Blot Outdoors Show.

Out of the last nine videos and two weeks of Facebook and Instagram, how much have you watched and how many comments have you made?

Here‘s my lot for all to see:

No full videos watched at all.

Three videos completely ignored without watching a single second.

Two videos half-watched out of curiosity.

Four videos quickly skimmed through - each taking about five minutes.

Absolutely no Facebook. I’m blocked but I don’t even use my secret account to look anymore. It’s boring as fuck.

Instagram - I don’t even have the app.

Reddit - slight interest lately after months of total abstinence.

Blot came into my life a few years ago when I needed escapism more than ever. My oldest son introduced me to Blot’s YouTube channel and I was instantly hooked.

Then I made the mistake of disagreeing with Blot and it all went pear-shaped.

But I don’t want to get into the details of our long online feud. Let’s just say it was both interesting and concerning.

What I want to talk about here is my struggle to move on from Blot.

For sure Blot has a certain appeal. His life experiences seem to have shaped him into a person who knows exactly how to get attention.

Perfect for YouTube then, right?

Well, yes and no. Blot disgusts as many people as he amuses. He repels as well as attracts.

But some people find it hard to ignore what repels them; hence this group and the critics who keep watching Blot.

I was just like that for some time. I kept going back to see what Blot was saying and doing, even after I’d promised myself I’d never watch his bigoted content again.

Then I decided complete abstinence was the only way forward.

So I stopped watching him, engaging with him and talking about him.

And I quit all other vloggers at the same time.

But Blot emailed and mentioned me in his videos (friends informed me). He was clearly trying to lure me back to continue our online spat.

I was strong at first. It was summer time and my wife was off work for weeks and we were away on little breaks and having great times with friends and family.

Then my wife went back to work and I was suddenly alone for hours at a time every day.

That‘s when I cracked.

I watched a Blot video and emailed a response back to him.

Aaaarrrrggghhh!!!!

And now I’m back on Reddit talking about Blot!!!!

It‘s like fucking alcoholism!!!!

Who is ‘topendreturns’?

He seems to be one of those cowards who like attacking, vilifying and defaming people anonymously.

I challenge the coward to reveal his identity - in the interests of fairness.

Lets get to know about his real life so we can dissect it and judge him.

Like he judges others - albeit from the safety of anonymity.

All we know so far is that he’s a pathetic servant of billionaire child murderers and he brown-noses Blot all day long.

Dickheads everywhere.

Right-wing dickheads and centrist dickheads.

Squabbling among themselves while trillionaires and billionaires rip the piss out of all of them.

Goodbye Reddit - what a waste of time and energy.

Blot says he loves to have a laugh and will ridicule everyone equally.

But that’s a lie.

When does Blot rip the piss out of Nigel Farage, Donald Trump or Tommy Robinson?

When does he make comedy out of white straight men or billionaire capitalists?

Fact is, the targets for Blot are always vulnerable minorities.

Asian and black people, immigrants, homosexuals, trans folk, the disabled.

And of course the leftists that defend them.

Never does he target the rich and powerful or white supremacists or right-wing populist and fascist leaders.

So no, he does not have a laugh about everyone equally.

It’s very unequal. It’s very pro-right, anti-left and hateful towards minorities.

Which makes him fair game for criticism in my view.

So let the criticism continue.

I don’t get this Reddit thing. When I first came here, I thought it was a place for genuine criticism of the worst aspects of Blot. It felt great to be vindicated by mutual agreement on his bigotry. I’d long been criticising on my own, so finding this group was a real breath of fresh air.

But it turned out to be more complicated than I initially thought. Not everyone disagreed with the bigotry for starters. In fact some people just wanted to rip the piss out of the man for fun. His family, physical appearance, drinking habits and nipples were as much a focus as the racism, sexism and homophobia.

I found it hard to fit in because I wasn’t interested in piss-take for pure entertainment value. My aim was, and always has been, to try and have a positive impact on Blot and make him more aware of the hideousness and harmfulness of his backward opinions and bigoted language.

But that meant going in deep - no ‘matron’ shit please - with my analyses of Blot and general society and the relationship between the two.

And that made me unpopular. I annoyed just about everyone. I took a load of abuse. People repeatedly posted my name and occupation. I was told I was mentally ill. I was told I had no friends. I was hated by Blot-haters. What a bizarre position to find oneself!

So last night I sat at work thinking…

Is it really worth it?

And then I watched Blot’s latest video (the one with the Box Outdoors lads).

And I realised that after every bigoted word or sentence Blot does the ‘Ya cannit say that’ thing.

Every time he says something offensive his brain reminds him that it’s wrong and makes him publicly recognise the fact.

Yes he’s taking the piss out of his critics. But he’s also proving them right at the same time.

Because if his words are not nasty, then why make an issue of it? Why not just say them and leave it at that?

He can’t. He knows it’s shit and can never unknow it.

So, I think it’s been worthwhile. I think the criticism has at least forced Blot to question his own behaviour - even if he’s not ready to abandon it yet.

And that’s all good.

But getting back to my presence on Reddit. I’m not going to say much after this. I don’t feel like I’m welcome here anymore.

But that’s fine. I’ve said what I needed to say. And if it had an effect on someone, great. And if it didn’t, well, we’ll all be dead soon anyway.

Solidarity from ‘Uncle Gaz’ ✊

I’ve always strived to converse civilly and amiably with Blot. I’m a big believer in two-way communication and dialectical argumentation, so I never wanted to end up talking to myself. I invited Blot to chat many times.

But mostly what I’ve had in response is abuse, ridicule, sarcasm and British flag emojis.

There has been very little discourse. Which is a shame, because nothing can change without it.

I don’t hate Blot. I actually like the bloke. I like him enough to give him my time and offer him my help.

But he isn’t interested. He sees me as an enemy. His conservative consciousness makes him reject anyone who isn’t also conservative.

Blot perpetuates his own backwardness by filtering out all progressive ideas and compartmentalising those who articulate them.

But why is he this way? What happened in his life to make him so stubbornly right-wing and rigid?

Answer: Thatcherism.

Blot is a classic example of a working class man turned inside-out by ruling class ideology.

And so far at least there is absolutely no sign of Blot finding his true self.

He won’t talk. He refuses to listen. He mocks those who try to get through to him. And he surrounds himself with nodding yes people who are never going to criticise him in any way.

Blot is protecting a twisted version of himself from a far better, more natural, more human version of himself.

And Blot loses every day as a result.

He once said in a video, after falling over and breaking his tent in a drunken stupor, that ‘Uncle Gaz’ has ‘finally won’.

But for me it was never a contest. I wasn’t in it to win it.

I was in it to help Blot win.

I want everyone to win.

Blot doesn’t understand that. He can’t understand it. His conservatism doesn’t allow him to understand it.

And because he won’t talk, he may never understand it.

Let‘s talk, Blot.

Why do racists not evolve when they are defeated in debate?

As a former racist myself, I can testify.

Losing an argument isn’t enough. The arrogant racist will simply ignore the education and continue absorbing racist crap from other racists.

What is needed is real-life experience that challenges misconceptions and forces a change in outlook.

For me it was working in a pizza shop with Muslims.

I can’t overstate how important that was to overcoming my backward views.

I got to know these people well and developed a genuine respect for them.

It had never happened to me before. Coming from a very white council estate and being surrounded by racists all my life meant I was very naturally culturally stunted.

So I had to overcome racism via experiences beyond the norm.

And I wouldn’t go back to ignorance for anything.

Sadly, racism is on the rise in our society because people are swallowing the lies of right-wing political opportunists and putting up the barriers to social cohesion.

All racists should try forging strong connections with people of different colours and cultures.

Believe me, there is nothing to fear!

So last night I had my very first Blot dream.

In that dream we were mates and hanging about together. I can’t remember the details now, they’ve faded away as the day has progressed.

I just remember that we were pals, and I think there was a fairground of some sort.

Anyway, it’a got me wondering why Blot was in my dream.

I‘ve had similar dreams featuring the Gallagher brothers. Loads of them actually over the years.

In those dreams I’m always good friends with the Oasis lads and we have a great time together.

What‘s all that about?

And by the way, I have plenty great real-life friends, so it’s not like I’m Billy no mates yearning for company.

Is it perhaps my youth or childhood I’m craving?

I‘ve been trying my best not to watch Blot. But sometimes I see a thumbnail and I’m drawn back in again.

Now I’m watching his latest video where he breaks down in the Blotmobile and ends up having a drink and a chat with a homeless bloke.

And this is reminding me why I liked Blot in the first place. Beyond the bigotry and nastiness he can actually be entertaining, funny and very decent towards those less fortunate.

I love that he gave some of his supplies to the homeless man. I also love that he maintained a positive and comedic attitude in the face of adversity.

He even let us see his vulnerability and contradictory nature when he stopped himself from doing the racist wobbly head thing because the AA man popped out unexpectedly from behind his car.

Oh and he resisted saying ‘black cock’ after visiting Gregg’s.

So far so good. I’m enjoying the video. Well done, Blot.

Though I am only halfway through, so he could ruin it yet.
