Can you really not get your money back on wristbands?

WHAT ABOUT YOUR BALANCE ON YOUR WRISTBAND?
If you choose on-site topup (either with cash or card) at Festipay Top-up points , you should claim back the remaining balance at the Festipay kiosk/helpdesk until 16 August 12:00.
This seems kind of criminal...? Surely there is a way to get your money back once you're home?
