Moving to LA: Safe, Walkable, LGBT-Friendly Areas Near El Segundo (No Freeways)
Hi everyone! My wife and I are planning a move to the LA area in about 6 months from Scottsdale. One of us works completely remotely, while the other has a job based in El Segundo.
We want to keep our daily commute under 40 minutes total and strictly prefer to avoid highways/freeways for the drive. Because of this, we are looking for a 2-bedroom or a 1-bedroom with a den.
Safety is a top priority for us, and we aren't completely sure about the vibes of the areas we've seen online. So far, we have been looking at Lawndale, Hawthorne, and Long Beach. Can anyone advise us on which of these fit our safety and commute needs, or suggest other surrounding areas we should look into? Thanks!

I keep getting comments regarding the highway thing. I want to explain, due to high stress job, we’d like to avoid it only for work travel. We now how LA is.
