The Official Playlist....

There's a song on it called "kisses" and I'm just absolutely feral with rage. Also while I was listening to it my husband walked in and asked me to stop listening to "Funeral music". When I asked wtf that meant (because he didn't know I was specifically listening to a playlist or that it had anything to do with GOmens) he said he's only ever 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' at funerals or in movies depicting funerals and I'm just,,, YOU'RE NOT WRONG BUT STOP HURTING ME

Like it's a fine list but UGH

I want the full script, is that wrong?

Like, I just want more to work with. And I KNOW, okay, I know who wrote it but it really seems to me that so much was missing I really want to know what the whole script was supposed to look like. I've watched the Finale twice now and every time I see the ghost of plots and character arcs. Maybe I'm reading too much between the lines but:

Were we supposed to find out that the Metatron was actually kind of chill?

It seems like he let Aziraphale mostly do what he wanted. Though I'm sure Meta was still a toxic boss in some ways, given Aziraphale's new clothes and lack of eating, but especially with the inclusion of Derek at the end I get the feeling we were going to find out he was genuine in his offer to make Crowley an angel and that he was a strict but understanding guy. He was also Michael's first mark, which makes me think she saw him as a traitor, a la taking Aziraphale's side on things, etc.

Was Sandlephon a coconspirator against Aziraphale with Micheal? Was Uriel not into it and actually okay with Aziraphale being the boss?

Did we miss them begrudgingly teaming up to fuck with Aziraphale? Did Uriel refuse to join them? Sandlephon knew something that he was going to tell Muriel, how would he know anything if he wasn't close with Micheal in some way. And Uriel actually seemed to be going along with Aziraphale's plan, she even added the bit about meeting Yeshua with a cuppa, and assures him the plan go as he says. Uriel even seemed genuinely upset that Muriel was doing a bad job investigating the book of life thing. Because we never really get Micheal's reason for killing Uriel. She just kind of kills her for the fun of it. Maybe we were supposed to see Uriel coming around on Aziraphale and the whole 'peace unbounded' thing.

Are miracles actually money?

We have Aziraphale's 'celestial wages' brought up in season 1 and now Crowley's 'account' being shut off. Crowley 'quit' and was then taken off the payroll. Was there going to be a scene where Aziraphale calls out Crowley for not saving up his miracles, only to find out he spent them all protecting the bookshop? I've noticed that some think Aziraphale was being cruel by letting Crowley stay on the street but to him that would've looked like a personal choice. Presumably, they were both still being 'paid' after Armageddon so why would Aziraphale worry about Crowley. He probably through himself into work and tried not to think about Crowley. Anyway, what I'm saying is, did we miss out on canon Sugar Daddy Aziraphale making them Big Archangel Bucks??

As an extension of that thought, did we miss a scene where Aziraphale miracles Crowley's heaven outfit?

I'm thinking, they get into/out of the elevator and Aziraphale has changed clothes. Crowley comments on this, because of course he does, and maybe Aziraphale shoots back that he should change too. Crowley reminds Aziraphale that he can't and, chargined, Aziraphale offers to do it for him. We then get Crowley being a bit snappish saying something like, 'Yeah, alright, let's see it. What does Angel Crowley look like to the Supreme Archangel?' and maybe he's expecting something like he wore when they first met, or tartan, or something completely out of character but instead it's Crowley's outfit in a different color pallet. Crowley's shocked and Aziraphale says something about not expecting Crowley to change much at all. This would've been the perfect opportunity for this dialogue call back [C: It's a bit flashy for Heaven isn't it? A: You don't like it? C: I didn't say that... I'll get used to it.]

Dim Sum and then some.

So we get the scene of them in the Bentley, and Aziraphale explaining himself and Crowley being, let's be honest here, out right mean to him. This is followed by Crowley ordering vast amounts of dim sum and even cracking open a bottle of the same wine they had prior to the end times in S1. I feel like, there was more we were supposed to see here. Maybe prior to this scene they get out of the car to look for Jesus, Crowley visibly marinating on what Aziraphale said in defence of himself and choosing to pop into a restaurant because they need to talk properly and that requires alcohol and food between them. We were meant to linger in this restaurant I think. I'm seeing close ups, micro expressions, Crowley's tone changing, Aziraphale not ordering food and Crowley ordering for him. Maybe we would've learned that Aziraphale wasn't just upset because things had gone wrong, but that he's been miserable in Heaven from the start. Then worse, he'd never expected to have a good time there, he'd never wanted to return, his excitement about them being together in Heaven had been a sell to get Crowley to come with him. He knew the work would be rotten but he'd thought they'd do it together and everything is better when they're together. Aziraphale never checked in on Crowley because he spent the last however many years expecting Crowley to figure this out and come find him because that's what they always do. Maybe prior to this we would've gotten scenes of Aziraphale in Heaven looking longingly at the elevator or asking if they'd had any unexpected visitors and being told 'no and why do you keep asking that?' Instead, Crowley was too proud and preoccupied throwing himself the world's pettiest pity party! Then they both sit there realizing they misjudged each other massively and are about to say something about it when they're interrupted.

The 'I need you to forgive me' scene.

As it is, this scene feels kind of gross but if we'd gotten more from scenes like the dim sum and Bentley conversation we'd probably have seen it as obvious that Crowley had already forgiven Aziraphale. And by the time this scene comes along we've finally heard what Aziraphale meant when he said 'I forgive you' all those times because he tells Michael that forgiveness is the only way to 'fix' things. Every time Aziraphale has forgiven Crowley, it's been him saying 'I'm hurt, but we're okay'. Here, at the end of everything, Aziraphale isn't forcing something that isn't there, it's Aziraphale asking Crowley to say it out loud. There's nothing left to lose and the only thing that matters is them and their relationship so please, he needs to hear it, just say it out loud.

I could definitely go on but this is getting much longer than I originally thought and should I just start writing fanfiction at this point?

Honestly, fanfiction is great, that's not facetious I really do love it, I just wish we'd gotten more to experience together as a fandom. No fanfic ever written has the universal experience of canon material. And by that I don't mean that it's better, just that it gets more visibility. I've read tons of fic that outshined canon across the board in every fandom under the sun but I've never really been able to talk to people about those fanfics unless I could force/convince them to read said fics and that's not necessarily an easy feat.

Am I making any sense? Does anyone else feel the same?
