Coworkers brother died. He was mid 60's. Gave me this guitar. It has fake passive emg-85's and 81's that say "made in 2014". Seems irrelevant. Control cavity has no spot for a battery so it definitely had passive pickups originally. Instead of soldering the grounds together, he just used electrical tape.

Based on what I've found, the serial number should put it around 2003.

However, the logo looks like a decal or something. Ive never even held a Jackson guitar before, so I don't know how it's supposed to look.

There was no writing in the neck pocket, but it also looked to be sanded and there were shims in there for more neck angle.

I don't usually like this kind of guitar, but the ruby inlaid knobs are dope.

Any thoughts?
