I was looking at the Equinox cruises to Antarctica, and I'm confused. Everything I've ever seen indicates that it is two days to cross the Drake Passage. But the itinerary shows Ushuaia on Day 5, and then Cape Horn "sightseeing" on Day 6, and then specific places in Antarctica on Day 7. 

So does the Equinox really get across the Drake Passage in one day? 

Also, anyone who has done this cruise ... I realize this isn't an expedition cruise and you don't get off the ship, but what were your thoughts on the two days cruising in Antarctica? Was just two days worth the money and effort in your opinion?

Hello, We are a family group from New England who will be based in Newport Beach for a wedding the last week in December. We would like to do a hike that gives a sense of just how big the mountains and the views are.  None of us are regular hikers, and the limiting factor is my nearly 60-year-old body that is not in the greatest shape; I figure I'm good for up to 6 miles and 1000 ft in elevation gain total at not-ridiculous altitudes, although it would probably better to stay way under those numbers if possible. Hoping to find a hike within 90 minutes of Newport Beach, and would prefer to avoid snow and bears. I would welcome any suggestions or reality checks. And if there is a better place for me to post, please let me know. TIA.

Hi, Trying to figure out when to show up so that we will be in place for the Saturday Final Exercises on the Lawn by 8:15 am.

1. If we want to use the shuttle from the JPJ Arena garage, when should we arrive at the garage? I would prefer to arrive before crowds start building into lines to get on the shuttle (i.e., people having to watch multiple shuttles come and go before actually getting on one). 

2. If we are planning to park in Emmet/Ivy Garage and walk to the Lawn, when should we arrive in the vicinity of the garage to be able to assuredly get a spot and have time for the walk and clearing security?

3. How badly does traffic jam up in the area (Jefferson Park Ave westbound and Emmet St. northbound are of particular interest), and what time do we need to be driving through to avoid getting stuck?

Wondering if anyone else has experienced the app showing the wrong date for check-in opening. The 45-day mark for our upcoming cruise is tonight (April 30, East Coast departure), but the app was telling me yesterday that "Check in opens April 29th."  So I tried unsuccessfully to check-in multiple times last night after midnight, but even right now (12:45 pm Eastern time on April 29), it still just says "Check in opens April 29th."  But then I checked on the website and it shows April 30 as the check-in opening. 

I'm just wondering if this is a common glitch, and also wondering if I will be able to do the app check in tonight, or if I'll have to go in through the website.

Is it the case that if you check in on the app, you can just pick your boarding time and do all the rest of the stuff later? Thanks.
