Recovery after dmx- when will I be able to use my arms?

I’m scheduled for mastectomy and DIEP flap reconstruction at the end of this month. I have my own business that is mostly working on a computer. How long after having this operation were you able to use your arms again for something like working on a computer? Will I be able to sit in bed and do a bit of work after 2 -3 weeks?
I’m so scared for this surgery and on top of that managing my business and my income just adds to the stress.

Grieving process

I am scheduled to have the prophylactic mastectomy with immediate reconstruction in 2months. I am very emotional about it. I wouldn’t say I love my breasts or the think they are particularly beautiful or anything like that, but I am so emotional about the upcoming surgery.
For those who’ve had the surgery - what did you do to prepare yourself for the loss and to grieve? With the removal of my ovaries, tubes and uterus last year, I felt so much more at peace. I got a piercing to commemorate my last ever period and the fact that my uterus carried two beautiful babies, and that process really helped me to process the loss.
I’ve heard about people having parties before dmx, but that does not really appeal to me. I’ve got some breast milk saved, so I’m thinking of having some keepsake jewellery made, but somehow that doesn’t feel as meaningful.
I would appreciate anyone sharing their stories!

Extreme fatigue

I had a complete hysterectomy, including ovaries in November 2025. Been on HRT since January and had some trouble with the dosage, but I think that’s sorted out now.
However, I am experiencing extreme fatigue. No matter how much I sleep, I’m always tired and sleepy. Literally the only thing that wakes me up, is getting some exercise. But I cannot exercise every day due to my schedule, but I do exercise 4-5 times a week. My diet is relatively healthy, and includes plenty of vegetables and lean protein.
I had blood tests done and everything came back normal, except for slightly low Vitamin D levels. I take a supplement for that which seems to cause a slight improvement.
It’s getting to a point where it’s affecting my daily life and I’m at my wits end.
Anyone have some advice or going through the same thing? I’m just not getting back to where I was pre-surgery. I’m having another major surgery in a couple of months, and I’m scared that will compound the problem b
I’m 40 with two small kids (which adds to the fatigue for sure), but I hardly have the energy to keep up with them.
Any advice welcome!
