What's one moment that got you the most heated during this Trump Presidency?

Maybe it's just because it's fresh on my mind after the latest news of us buying Russian oil, but this spectacle Trump & Vance put on was really an embarrassing and frustrating moment to have to watch as an American citizen. To see my country berate a world leader who is actively fighting Authoritarianism and the very existence of their country, only to roll out the red carpet for Putin shortly after just boiled my blood.

I'm curious, if you had to pick one singular moment or action of the many corrupt, incomprehensible, regressive actions from Trump 2.0, which one really got to you the most?

Breaking into political essays & op-eds

So I’ve only recently joined Substack and have honestly been having fun. I published my first post titled The Attention Economy of American Authoritarianism, it got virtually no traction but I didn’t expect it to, I’m more focused on building a portfolio at this point.

I’ve made a couple notes, left my best attempts at insightful comments on others notes, and have been trying to connect with others. I follow a lot of interesting accounts, and I’m approaching this more so as a hobby than anything else. I love talking about politics but don’t have many people in my personal life I can truly nerd out with on the topic, so I’m hoping to find my community on substack.

My issue is that I’m having lots of trouble finding smaller creators in that (ostensibly large) niche. Am I just searching the wrong way? What’s the best way to find these smaller accounts that I can actually interact with?

If anyone reading this has those interests please send me a dm so we can connect on substack! For reference, some of my favorites are: Jamelle Bouie, Ezra Klein, Anne Applebaum, Derek Thompson, basically everyone at The Atlantic.

PS I’m hoping this doesn’t count as self promotion but I understand if this post gets taken down. More so looking for guidance on how to find my community.
