Ordering a Stethoscope

Hey everyone! Hoping to get some guidance on ordering my stethoscope. Upper-year students from my school mentioned that there isn't a school group order, so I might as well order my stethoscope now.

I checked both Surgo Surgical Supply and Stethoscope.ca. Although it's slightly more expensive, I'd prefer to go with Stethoscope.ca, as I like that I can pick and see the font for the engraving. The one issue I'm coming across is that, although the site mentions they do free engraving, I seem to be getting a $6 charge whenever I try to add an engraving. Also, I've been trying to purchase through the student program, and some of my classmates have mentioned that they got a discounted price by going through that option, but I don't see any discount being added.

Wondering if anyone else had similar issues/found a solution? For context, I'm looking at a Littmann Classic III Stethoscope with an original price of $153 (no engraving) or $159 (w/ engraving) on stethoscope.ca. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Stethoscope Engraving (Quran Verse)

Hey everyone! I’m looking to get my first stethoscope engraved and I’ve been trying to decide whether I should get my name with a verse from the Quran or just stick to my name. I’ve seen people do it with bible verses and a couple did it with Quran verses but just looking to see what the general consensus is.

The verse I’d be looking to engrave is Quran 5:32 which says “whoever saves a life, it will be as if they saved all of humanity.”

It’s something that would hold personal meaning for me but I imagine there may be some discussion as to how it may be perceived by patients. But also at the same time, do they even notice the engravings? I don’t know. Would greatly appreciate hearing anyone’s two cents. Thank you!

Any tips for a 23F student looking for a place to live? All advice is appreciated :)

Hi everyone! Hope you're all doing well :) I'm looking to move to Windsor to attend medical school and have been having a hard time finding a place. Looked at places like 1980 Wyandotte St W and Carnegie Apartments, but have been having a hard time picking due to issues like roach incidents, poor management/security, unreliable transit (I likely won't have a car, so I'd prefer to stay within walking distance of UWindsor).

I'm looking for a 1 Bed 1 Bath Apartment, ideally within $1800/month and preferably with the following:

  • Safe neighbourhood
  • Close to UWindsor (Ideally not more than a 20-minute walk)
  • Good security (preferably an apartment/condo building)
  • Laundry (in-suite would be nice, but as long as it's in the building, I don't mind)
  • Clean (ideally no recurring or recent roach/bedbug issues)
  • Not main floor

Nice to haves would include:

  • Hardwood/tile flooring
  • Updated kitchen/washroom (stainless steel appliances would be nice, and having a dishwasher would be amazing)
  • AC

If anyone has any tips or advice that could help guide my search or any general advice on areas/buildings, I would be so grateful! Thanks so much in advance!
