54mm minimum diameter rocket - carbon fiber, aluminium and printed parts

Scratch built dual deploy rocket built as part of a line of small printed/Carbon fiber rockets I am developing.

The nose is printed PA6-GF and houses GPS tracking.

A small avionics bay houses redundant deployment control.

The fin can is printed PPA-CF recessed for an aluminium motor retainer.

Simulated mach 1.2 on a J class motor.

Follow up to the little 24mm composite - the minimum diameter 54mm dual deploy it was based on

The picture shows the minimum diameter, 54mm build the little 24mm carbon fiber rocket was based on, plus the 29mm dual deploy that came before it.

- Printed nylon/glass fiber nose with GPS tracking

- Large avionics bay for dual redundant dual deploy - CF and aluminium. No tracking here, tracking kept in the nose.

- Mesh cooling anchor

- Printed nylon/carbon fiber fin can (slight flare to recess the retainer)

- Slimline 54mm retainer

- 1mm carbon fiber airframe

A lot of work still to do but the airframe itself is done. Printed parts will be finished and painted.

10k feet/mach 1.2 on a J. Built with strength in mind as it tops the UK waiver anyway.

Next projects will be minimum diameter 18 and 38mm (dual deploy) with the same design to complete the set up to 54mm.

Thanks for taking a look.

Scratch 24mm version of my printed 29 and 54mm minimum diameter builds.

Knocked up a quick 29mm (24mm motor) single deploy to accompany my min diameter 29 and 54mm composite scratch built dual deploys. Composites and bespoke parts mostly from Blackcat Rocketry.

- PPA-CF (Nylon/Carbon fiber) fin can

- PA6-GF (Nylon/Fiberglass) nose

- Aluminium retainer

- Phenolic motor mount

- 1mm wall thickness carbon fiber airframe

- Cooling baffle shock cord mount

- Eggfinder GPS tracking

1.3 calibers with an E30.
