I have a fantasy world in mind(I have some descriptions of the land, people, possible events and whatnot). I have always wanted a map to go along with it but have never created a map myself.
What is the best way to "dip my toe in the water" to start with mapmaking? What program would be the best to start out with? Any little tips or tricks for a complete noob?
Hello all, I am working on a really quick campaign that my family is going to be the players for. I have a wife and 3 boys(ages ranging from 6-10). I have never DM’d before so I’m using this as my introduction to doing this for them as my boys have started showing interest in RPGs and other games. I guess I was wondering if there are any tricks or tips to making this enjoyable for them so that, hopefully, this won’t be our only campaign! Thanks in advance to any suggestions!
Edit: I don't plan on implementing the full ruleset of DnD, was more using it as a guideline to push the story while letting them crash through goofy situations. I probably should have noted that on here first.
