So, on July 29, we said goodbye to Boo’s sister Tiki. On Friday, we found out that Boo’s organs are failing. She has super high liver and kidney and pancreatic levels. We told the vet that we want to keep her comfortable as long as we can rather than put her through invasive or stressful treatments. It’s devastating to have to think about this so soon after losing her sister.

Little Miss Boo is an only kitty for the first time in her life. We are spoiling her rotten. Any ideas for comfort items for a little old lady who lost her littermate?

Tiki was made at the kitty factory in 2005. As the Head Kitty Maker picked her up to admire her, he exclaimed, “My goodness, this is a Very Special Kitty! Fetch the most luxurious kitty pajamas, the ones we’ve been saving for a special occasion!”

And so they brought the softest, coziest, inkiest silky kitty jammies and dressed the tiny kitten. And everyone agreed these jammies had been waiting just for Tiki: she was so very special and they fit her just right.

Then they hid this teeny kitten inside a wall of Bank of America in Dallas, where she waited many days for the worthiest mama to find her. As it turns out, an angel named Betsy discovered Tiki a whole week after finding her sister Boo. Betsy knew exactly where Tiki and Boo belonged.

And that is how I received the greatest gift of my life. 10 years later, I met a beautiful woman named Korina. I knew she was the one when she and Tiki fell immediately in love.

Perhaps it was the pajamas. Perhaps it was her sweet, calming nature. But Tiki gave the very best cuddles, kisses, and hugs. She was patient and so, so loving.

We do think the pajamas gave Tiki an other-worldly density. When she was 6 weeks old, she seemed to be made of dark matter. To hold her was always an experience in defying gravity.

Tiki and her sister have lived in 3 states as they traveled with me to pursue my dreams. She has been one of the greatest sources of joy and love I have ever had the privilege to experience.

20 years and 10 months from that fateful day at the Kitty Factory, Tiki has crossed the rainbow bridge. She embarks on the important tasks of finding her doggy siblings, Howler and Lucy, and waiting for Boo and her mamas to join her for the cuddliest reunion in the history of ever. These are tasks that only a Very Special Kitty can tackle successfully. Thankfully, she’s up to it.

My sweet girl. We’ve scheduled her last day for next week. It’s the hardest decision to make, and I wish she could take this burden from me, but I know it’s what’s right for her.

It’s been 4 years and 80+lbs, but the most weight loss has been over the last year on Zepbound! Not quite at goal yet, but feeling so much better. Best part is, I went off blood pressure meds and my temperature is much more regulated, especially in summer.
