Indian Passport: Flying to HKG then taking integrated SkyPier ferry to Shenzhen (ZYK). Do I need Hong Kong PAR? Airline helpline is confusing me.
Hey everyone,I’m flying from India to Mainland China with my family. We all have valid Mainland China tourist sticker visas stamped in our Indian passports. We booked a single, integrated combined ticket via the airline where the itinerary is: Mumbai (BOM) -> Hong Kong (HKG) -> Shenzhen Shekou (ZYK Ferry). The ferry portion is via the SkyPier terminal.
I called the airline helpline and the customer care agent panicked and told me that since we are using a ferry, we legally require a Hong Kong Pre-Arrival Registration (PAR) to board the flight in India, or they might deny us.
My questions:Has any Indian national traveled on an integrated Air+Sea ticket through HKG SkyPier recently? Did the ground staff at Mumbai/Delhi check-in demand a PAR?Does the automated system at the check-in counter clear us automatically because the final destination code is ZYK (China) and not HKG?Should I apply for the PAR anyway just to satisfy clueless airline agents, or will that cause unnecessary risk if it gets glitchy/rejected?Appreciate any advice or experiences with this exact route!
