Take full time promotion or stay in part time role
I currently work 4 days a week in a technical role which I enjoy. I have a young family, and the 4 day week suits us well. Financially we are not rich, but we are comfortable enough.
A promotion opportunity has come up which would move me more into management. The pay rise is nice but not massive. They have made it clear that it is only available full time although open to flexible working patterns.
I cant decide whether to go for it - my youngest is about to start school so technically we could make it work. I was very much looking forwards to having a day to myself though after many years of no time! The role itself doesn't excite me that much, but I accept that its the sort of move I would need to make if I wanted to progress in my field.
Any thoughts appreciated!
