Preparing for CAT 2026

I have been working as a Software Engineer in a service-based company for 1.5 years. I was preparing for a job switch, but now I'm thinking about CAT 2026. My profile is OBC (Male), 91.4% in 10th, 93% in 12th, 7.53 CGPA, and 1.5 years of work experience. Is it a good idea to focus on CAT instead of switching jobs? Is my profile good for top B-schools, and which mock tests should I start with?

Am I aiming too high with this profile?

General, engineering graduate, 9/8/7 profile, fresher. I know CAT score is the biggest factor, but I keep wondering if my academics will affect my chances during shortlisting and interviews. If someone with a similar profile scored 99+ percentile, which colleges did they realistically get calls from? Would love to hear real experiences instead of just what the internet says.

Can I Get Into FMS Delhi? Need Honest Advice

I'm an SC category engineering student from a tier-3/tier-4 college, and I'm planning to appear for CAT 2026. I want to join an MBA program immediately after graduation.

My profile:

  • 10th: COVID batch
  • 12th: 72%
  • B.E. CSE: Around 6 CGPA (approximately 50%)
  • Work experience: None

I know my academic record isn't strong, so I'm trying to understand my chances realistically.

What CAT percentile should I aim for to have a decent chance of getting into FMS Delhi under the SC category? Has anyone with a similar profile managed to convert FMS or other top B-schools?

Also, how much will my low academics and zero work experience affect my chances?

I'd really appreciate honest and realistic advice. Thanks!

MBA or No MBA?

Most people compare only one thing:

Salary after graduation.

But that's not the full picture.

An MBA can help you:

• Switch careers faster

• Access new roles

Expand your network

But it also comes with:

Opportunity cost

• Education debt

Time away from work

The real question isn't "Is an MBA worth it?"
