Been afraid of snakes my entire 38yrs. My gf got a BP and I faced my fears of snakes. The BP has become my little dude. Always hanging out with me etc. so for Father’s Day I decided to buy myself a hoggy off MM. have had him a couple weeks now. Have him in a decent size tank with plenty of hides, along with half coco fiber/ABG mix and the other half aspen. Hes pretty active. He will be a 1 tomorrow July 4th baby. He’s ate consistently every 5 days. And we’re on feeding 4 coming up next week. Husbandry seems to be great 90f on the hot side 75-80 on the cold side. Humidity is average 40%. He’s out roaming around quite a bit all the time. When I feed him or change his water out he’s very defensive. Hissing and fake striking at me. Do they calm down eventually? The seller said he had a bold and curious temperament and didn’t really hiss or musk and was pretty easy to handle. Do I just give him more time? I’ve touched him a couple times lightly and he was not a fan. Esp this last time.
