Can i use a fanfic as a script for a DI, I asked my coach about it and she said that it has to be published but I'm not sure what constitutes something as published or not, the specific script I want to do is Diary of a Time looper by Deake its a mlp fanfic

I want to start a speech and debate club for the students in my school with learning disabilites, I want them to be able to participate in completions alongside our speech team but Im not sure if there are enough competitions that have a catergories that are fitted for them to compete in fairly. I recently learned that there was a category for disabled students to do reading interps at a novice champs comp we went to but it might be just for that specific competitons, does anyone have any more info about how it would work?
I followed it back in 2022 and havent been able to find any info on it and it looks rlly good!! Does any1 know the artist or another platform its on!! :(
