They say a good leader never asks a subordinate to do something they wouldn’t do themselves. Do you think ever in trumps soft life he would have been willing to serve aboard an aircraft carrier for 250 days at sea?

Boy did we ever fuck the pooch on Lod.

I just finished the first half of the Chicago vs Portland game. Lod looks fast, fit and skillful. So far he’s scored and made an important contribution in the build up to their second. What the fuck are the idiots in charge smoking?

What does trump think he’s gonna spend all this money on?

He’s 100 years old, other than trying to recoup some of the billions of his dad’s money he’s lost, why even bother with theft of this magnitude?

With the news of five dead from flesh eating bacteria in Louisiana, do you feel let down by the current American health officials?

It wasn’t long ago only the most impoverished nations had such dangerous diseases. How did things collapse so quickly in the world’s richest?

Time for a change of formation, I’m thinking 4-2-3-1

Boxall and Duggan at CB, Diaz and Harvey FB. Trapp, Triantis and Gene share time at DM. Pereyra at the 10, Chancalay and Bongi on the wings and Gonzales up top. This leaves some good attacking players on the bench. We have nothing to lose at this point let’s score a few goals and trust the defenders.

Broken from top to bottom.

Chris Wrights resignation for me marks the beginning of our decline in quality on the field and in the stadium. As an experienced sports executive he was very well suited for the job of building an organization from scratch. Although we weren’t particularly successful results wise initially, he hired the right people to build a great game day experience and fans were enthusiastic. Heath was a smart hire, his eye for talent and unique man management (drawing on his fame as a player and USL success as a manager) pushed the team in a direction that attracted and entertained fans.
Wrights decision to include and utilize Manny was successful in bridging the gap between MLS and NASL and Heaths ability to discover diamonds in the rough brought us to the open cup final and within sight of an MLS cup final.
Listening to Ballards first interview was disappointing, her contempt for Heath and his staff was obviously personal and her vision going forward seemed more system/team oriented with clear divisions between coaching and management. She emphasized repeatedly a model whereby no one individually will ever have the power Heath was given.
Her first hire was of course KEA who must also be a believer in this approach. In his first interview he confirmed his enthusiasm for relying on modern analytics and announced we would no longer maintain our own scouts, rather we would rely on a third party scouting service.
Ramsay was the coach they saw best suited to take on this more humble role. His inexperience and ambition seemed a good match and his unique tactics brought good results. The nature of the players required for this system made some good players less valuable and incoming transfers were selected for better defensive and athletic ability.
MLS pulled the rug out from under our feet by allowing, encouraging and participating in the creation of a super club in Miami. It can’t be overstated how docile and tolerant mls fans were of this blatant disregard for competitive balance.
So, here we are in 2026 with another rookie executive, interim rookie coach and a completely talent depleted roster facing the prospect of attracting fans to games in the winter.
Surely this has to be rock bottom.

Is the “solution” worse than the “problem”?

When trump and his handlers talk about the “immigration problem” they often cite specific figures that seem impossible to accurately quantify. They seem convinced immigration costs tax money, but it’s often presented in a dishonest way and occasionally reinforced with blatant lies. Why would somebody work this hard to convince us immigration is a problem that can only be solved with extremely expensive and violent measures?

With significant cuts to the programs and services provided by the federal government, why are our taxes the same?

Nearly every benefit has been either reduced or eliminated entirely, national park land has been sold etc etc etc. Where is the money going?

Will republicans be as enamored with presidential unilateral decision making when it’s a democratic?

Imagine single-payer health care by executive order. Coast to coast high speed rail, a nationwide moratorium on data centers,20,000 masked gunmen on the streets of Dallas etc etc etc. Would a democratic president exercising power to the full extent the Supreme Court has ruled legal be embraced as lovingly by republicans as what we’ve experienced the past couple years?
