I just beat my first Bloodborne boss, and now I understand why people like this game so much
I recently decided to bite the bullet and finally give Bloodborne a shot. It's my first soulsborne game, and I didn't ever think it'd be the kind of thing I'd enjoy. Hard video games were never my thing growing, so I'd always stayed away from them. But last year, I started playing Hollow Knight, and I saw that a lot of the online creators who made HK content also talked about Bloodborne very positively. So after a few months of indecisively dragging my feet, I bought it. I'm already thinking it's one of the best decisions I've ever made related gaming.
I had a lot of trouble early on in the first area. The crowd around the funeral pyre in Central Yharnam was giving me a lot of trouble in my first couple of hours. But after finally clearing them out, I made some progress, unlocked some shortcuts, found the hunter set, got some insight and leveled up, then made my way over to the Cleric Beast.
I had seen some clips of people fighting it, so I knew roughly what to expect, but when it left down from thar ledge I'll admit that I freaked out a little. On my first attempt, I only lasted about 30 seconds. It caught me off guard how large he actually was and how quickly he moved (I died to the attack where he launches into the air and then pounces). But after a little bit of research, I found out that molotovs work well against him. So I went back, used some of those, and on my second attempt I kicked his ass! The euphoric feeling I got when I saw "prey slaughtered" on my screen was incredible. I know the game to come is probably going to be much harder, but I am very excited for it now.
