Term 2 MATH1231 or 1241?

Hi I just recently got my result for MATH1141 (higher math 1A) and I got 84 WAM. However this 84 WAM took god knows how much effort I put in. So I was thinking of doing math1231 next term instead so I have an easier time. The thing is I found out that math1241 has better scaling than 1231, but of course the exam is harder. I was thinking what if the scaling helps to the point where I dont have to get that good of raw marks in the final exam to get a high WAM overall (preferably 85 HD). I really want to prioritize WAM right now while putting minimal effort since I have other subjects to worry about so I’m not sure if I should continue with math1231 or 1241. If anyone can help suggest to me then that would be great. Thanks!

Year 1 T1 Mech engineering

Sigh…I really tried to get HD for math1141 but I couldnt do so, literally 1 WAM point away. Anyways do you guys think im still in good position?

Also I only did 2 subjects cuz I enrolled late so every other subject was already full, yeah the only option available from the recommended electives list was MECH9325 and the only core subject thats still got room was MATH1141.

myUNSW WAM is released?

Hi im a first term first year student. My first term I only did 2 subjects (mech9325 and math1141). Is this the overall wam for the 2 subjects or is it only one of them that released (either mech or math)? And also is this the confirmed WAM for the subjects or can it change until the actual results of first term release?

So basically I did my exam today and there was a question part a and a question part b, if I feel like my part a is wrong, but then im sure i did part b correctly. Do you think ill get marks for part b? Part b stated “use this answer of p”, which means the answer I wrote down for part a. I mean like its on mobius and all but is there carry on error for these kind of questions? If not then is there absolutely ANYTHING the examiner can do? Or am I just automatically getting zero for both if part a is wrong?

I’m aiming for high distinction (about 85 WAM) for math1141, I currently have 49/50 from my pre-exam work. Now getting to the final exam worth 50% of my grade, I’ve been studying the question banks that were given for revision and I can literally never understand a single question.

Im just wondering if theres any way I can study or review to get the minimum marks to get HD for the subject. I can probably get 20 marks from the core questions but the other 20 marks from the non core question bank, nah probably not man, theres countless questions man. I really need help please.
