Can US digital nomads claim FEIE if they travel on 90-day tourist visas all year?

I’m a US citizen working remotely as a software dev. I spent all of last year abroad across Schengen, Southeast Asia, and LATAM, never spending more than 60-90 days in any single country. Total US presence was only 14 days. Can I claim the Foreign Earned Income Exclusion (FEIE) using the Physical Presence Test, or do I need a formal tax home/residency visa abroad?

Is the 183-day rule a myth for digital nomads? How do you actually prove tax residency if you move every 2-3 months?

I’ve been traveling continuously for 18 months, spending 1–2 months in each country (Mexico, Thailand, Colombia, Portugal). I don't stay 183 days anywhere. Some friends tell me I'm effectively tax-free, but others say my home country (UK) still considers me tax resident. How do you actually establish legal tax residency when you don't stay in one place?
