Forget Black Flag Resynced, this is where it's at!

Obviously I'm kidding with the post title but for a 2014 era mobile game, it's actually pretty decent to play. No micro transactions or adverts being spammed and the gameplay loop, while repetitive, is actually fairly fun. The only irritation is the achievement to destroy 1000 ships. I finished every other achievement and still had probably around 700ish left to get at the end. I saw an article on TA that said a ton of old win8 games had been fixed which meant the achievements could unlock again, so I had a little check on store purchases on my laptop because I was fairly certain I'd downloaded this back in the day, and I had! This marks 18 Assassin's Creed games I've completed, just have Rogue (360 version) and Resynced to do.

Domain mode can eat my entire ass

Ubisoft has such an incredible skill at this point for ruining their own games. The domain challenge mode is horrible. Massive shout out to TA user UCantSeeHunter for their brilliant cheese strat to complete the mode as painlessly as possible. I'm so pissed at this that I'm genuinely glad it's the last update, I never want to touch this game again and I'd been having a great time with it up until this point.

It's mind-blowing to think that the last four AC games have had bullshit dlc added that ruined an otherwise good experience. From the unnecessary, years after release dlc for Mirage, to the even worse mastery challenges in Valhalla. Then the legacy dlc episodes in Odyssey that were borderline offensive, not to mention boring as hell. Origins was the last one that was just fun the entire way through and that released in 2017. No wonder Ubisoft is going bankrupt, they've forgotten why people enjoy playing games.

Tl;dr Fuck Ubisoft.

Back on the completion list... for now lol

I'm torn between enjoying these one achievement updates because it pulls me back in and it's quick and fun to check out the new stuff they've added. But also wanting a more substantial update even if that means more work on getting it back on the complete list. Either way I'm always happy to play a bit of Minecraft.

AC Shadows title update has tough/grindy new challenge mode

So there's a new game mode called Domains and essentially it's Shadows version of the mastery challenges in AC Valhalla. There's an achievement to play all 10 challenges and the last one is on nightmare mode with each enemy at minimum level 100, 150% extra health and 50% extra damage. It seems like it's entirely possible to replay earlier challenges and earn coins to spend on stackable upgrades. The downside of replaying is the incredibly irritating fact that each level you play needs tokens to enter. Tokens are earned from completing domain levels and anomalies. Anomalies are finite per week until they refresh. Unless I'm totally misunderstanding this, domain mode is going to be a frustrating grind and potentially long as hell to complete.

EDIT: clearing corrupted castles gives a decent amount of tokens, the harder the castle the more you get!

What's one game that never released in your region that you'd love to play?

I recently picked up a 360 so I could go back and finish off games I only half finished back in the day. I've been having a lot of fun collecting games I've never played as well. While looking at the list of all 360 games, I was really surprised to discover a game called Bandfuse Rock Legends. It's very similar to the Rocksmith games but less polished. Unfortunately it didn't get a release in Europe so I won't be able to ever play it. At least not without faffing about getting a North American 360 console and I truly can't be arsed. So I was just wondering what are some games you wish you could play but can't because they aren't available where you live?

Decent liminal exploration game

I vastly preferred the maps that solely focused on exploration and having a wander over the ones that had objectives. The playrooms map was very tedious and I played the 'easier' version after the developer had patched it. Searching for five generators and then trying to find your way back to the gate was just unnecessarily frustrating, for me at least. Dead Mall is the latest title update and it's easily my favourite map. The architecture is so brilliantly disconcerting, especially when you make it outside, there's nothing in the sky besides an endless ceiling of industrial concrete. It was very effective at making me tense and uncomfortable. I'd still recommend the game overall but just be aware that some maps are definitely less fun than others.

I had a really good time with the main game but the two dlc add ons weren't anywhere near as fun. The multiverse one had an instinct to grow a beard to full length and it took two hours real time. At that point it starts to feel less like you're in on the joke and feels more like the developers are deliberately punishing the player. Maybe I'm just being a bit salty because I found it annoying to complete. I'm glad to have played Goat Sim 3 but I'm also glad to be done lol

I had a lot of fun with this one! I ended up doing three playthroughs because I missed an incredibly easy achievement like an idiot on my second playthrough. I enjoyed the story a lot and the gameplay loop was very satisfying. Something about stocking shelves and chatting to customers was relaxing. Another game pass win for me.

I love the Life is Strange games! LiS Reunion is such a great finale to Max and Chloe's story, I enjoyed every bit of it. I'm curious to see where they go with the series next. I'm assuming a new character in a stand alone adventure. I will admit I am a little bummed I didn't realise that the first game had a 360 version sooner, that's lost to the ether now. But I've finished the other 8 available games, so not too shabby!
