Hi there,

A local radon company quoted me $700 to replace the fan on the system at my new house. That sounds a little steep. So, it occurred to me I might be able to replace the fan myself.

The levels at our house reached 4.7 on inspection, but we were told a new fan would help. The rest of the existing system was fine according to the radon guy we had come out to take a look.

1. Does anyone have an affordable fan they recommend?

2. There are tons of how-to videos on everything these days. Is there one video you’d recommend as a guide?

Hey folks,

I just bought a house with an irrigation system. I just ran a test of the KD2 controller and it doesn’t look to be working. I’m including a few shots of the controller and nearby valve.

A couple of questions:

1. Is it possible I need to turn on/repair the valve pictured?

2. Does the disconnected brown wire have anything to do with the problem? I’m guessing that wouldn’t short circuit the entire system by thought I’d check.

Anyone have tips on how to regrade a gravel yard? My yard is sloped where it meets the exterior wall / foundation. Unsurprisingly, we have a little water damage as a result.

I’d love to learn any tips on how to DIY this to save a little money. The projects are adding up! Offering a pic of the wall, the yard and a close up of the material.

I just moved into a new place and have a growing list of things to touch up. I’m a newb when it comes to home repairs, so bear with me.
