Career Change
Apologies in advance for the long post.
I am thinking about transitioning into QS and wondering if anybody has done so from a similar background as myself and/or what the best route was in the UK. I currently have a degree in a healthcare profession and have been working in this area since graduating, unfortunately I do not have any construction experience, but interested in the industry. I’ve looked at various entry routes and a masters in QS may be the better option. I’m in my early/mid twenties and unfortunately a low paid DA for 5 years would be difficult financially. My worry is, as I don’t have construction or finance experience, finding a job after completing the masters would be difficult? If you’ve done the masters program, how was the job hunting process after, did you feel disadvantaged with a shorter degree and less practical experience?
I’m from London so if anybody has had any experience with studying or transitioning with a london based company or degree program, i’d love to hear your experience!
