Im trying to build a portfolio of musical theatre songs that fit my range because I have quite a lot of auditions coming up and I don’t want to be singing the same songs over and over till I get bored of them. I’m technically an alto, but a lower alto so I usually end up singing the tenor parts. I am happy to sing both high male and low female songs, so if anyone has any suggestions that would be awesome.

some of my favourite songs to sing that are in my range are:

Left Behind, And Then There Were None, Purple Summer, and Touch Me from Spring awakening

Not while I’m around from Sweeney Todd

The Moon from Once

Epic III and If It’s True from Hadestown

I’m Alive from Next to Normal

The long grift from Hedwig and the angry inch.

Basically all male songs. I’d be very grateful to hear any suggestions.

I am 16 years old and I am looking for a residential musical theatre summer school to go to next year. I’ve looked into two mainly, those being West End Stage: https://www.westendstage.com and BYMT: https://britishyouthmusictheatre.org/perform-with-us/musical-theatre-camps/summer-camps/

I am looking to improve my skills while getting to perform for an audience, and ideally networking a bit. I’m interested in getting to perform new material too. I don’t really want to have to audition for it because I have lots of auditions already coming up. Id appreciate hearing from anyone with experience with either of these, or any similar summer programmes.

Also if there are any renowned drama summer schools that are not necessarily musical theatre, I’m also interested.
