My €240 DualSense Edge is already drifting after 6 months… is this normal ?
Hey, I need some advice because I’m honestly getting tired of joystick drift on PS5 controllers.
Before this, I had two regular DualSense controllers, and both of them ended up getting stick drift pretty quickly. Sometimes, after cleaning around the sticks properly, the issue would improve or even disappear for a few weeks, but it always came back eventually.
Now I have a DualSense Edge, which I bought around November, so I’ve had it for about 6 months. It’s already starting to drift. I didn’t really notice it at first because I was mostly playing solo games like Red Dead Redemption 2, but when I started playing more precise games like Valorant on console, it became really obvious.
In Valorant, my character sometimes moves by itself, so I think the left stick has an issue. But sometimes the camera also moves on its own, so I feel like the right stick might be affected too. Even in Uncharted, I sometimes notice my character keeps walking by himself.
I already tried removing the thumbstick caps on the DualSense Edge, cleaning around the sticks, and putting them back on. Sometimes it feels a bit better for a while, but the problem comes back almost every day.
Has anyone else had this problem with the DualSense Edge?
Is there an actual fix for this, or should I just replace the stick modules?
And more importantly, why does this keep happening to me? This controller costs around €240, so getting stick drift after only 6 months feels pretty ridiculous.
PS5: should I go for a 27” 1440p OLED or wait for a 32” 4K OLED?
Hi everyone,
I’m trying to choose a new monitor mainly for my PS5, and I’m hesitating between two OLED options:
A 27” 1440p OLED Asus for around €450, available now, or a 32” 4K OLED Asus for around €700, but I would need to wait about 1.5 to 2 months longer to get it.
My biggest question is: is 4K actually worth it and well-suited for PS5?
On PC, I know 4K can require a very powerful and expensive setup, but is it different on PS5? Since the console is made for 4K gaming, would a 32” 4K OLED be the better long-term choice?
For context, I used to play competitive games, but now I mostly play single-player games. I currently use a 32” Samsung Odyssey G5 1440p, so either option would probably be a big upgrade because of OLED.
I’m discovering Uncharted for the first time, but there’s something weird…
Hi everyone,
I’m currently discovering the Uncharted series and I’m really enjoying it so far. I decided to start with the original trilogy before playing the other games, so I’m currently playing Uncharted 1 and 2 on PS5.
Overall, I think the games still look really good, especially when the camera is close to the characters. The faces, animations, and close-up scenes look great.
However, whenever the camera moves farther away or shows more of the environments, the image suddenly looks much less clean. The backgrounds sometimes look very pixelated, almost like they’re shimmering or slightly flickering, especially in the distance. It even feels like some parts of the scenery are moving or shaking a little.
So I was wondering if this is normal for these versions/remasters, or if it could be caused by a PS5 setting, a TV setting, or something else.
Has anyone else noticed this ?
