Cold E-mailing to school lab
Does anyone have any tips to cold-emailing a professor for shadowing or just absolutely any tasks in the lab as a first year undergraduate with no previous lab experience?

Any other reason for receiving renewable full tuition scholarship other than grades?
When I first researched HKUST and applied I didn't expect to get an admissions scholarship because I applied with a 41/45 IB predicted grade with 766 in my HLs (Bio, Chem, MathAA). When I got my offer with the scholarship the conditions seemed very low (34 overall with 6 in Bio and 6 in Math HL). For reference, I got into the Science B program.
Everyone says to get a full scholarship for one year you need at least 43 or 44 in IB and only with a perfect 45 u can get some extra money besides tuition and renewable.
I understand that there are many factors that contribute to whether someone gets in or not or gets scholarship or not. I know that getting into a school-based program is significantly less competitive than getting into a direct major. But besides this, considering my not so impressive results, what could be other reasons that I received such a great financial help? I'm genuinely puzzled.

Has anyone tried to sell their uni applications to Revision Dojo?
