Replacement Engine for a Model 1765 Carter Go-Kart
Hello,
Over the past month, I've been working on a go-kart senior project. Therefore, I've acquired an old, rusted frame from Facebook market to get started. Despite significant progress, I've realized that the engine that I've acquired (GX390) is much too big for this frame - To be fair, I acquired it for another frame which didn't work out.
Here's the blown-up sheet if you need it -> https://www.bmikarts.com/PDF/Carter-Bros/CarterBros/Model-1765/1765.pdf?srsltid=AfmBOoovPmJNoovoUEXqWk1gGFuLpeDKjpWoZevymDlTujzlUE4vTW4F
Therefore, I'm trying to find the dimensions for the original engine (which I do not possess). At the moment, I've been unable to find it.
Basically, I'm worried that an engine that has a radically different lateral position for its crankshaft in comparison to the original Briggs & Stratton 5 HP Engine (136212) would render the belt incompatible.
Since the engine mount is slotted, I'm fairly sure that I have some wiggle room, but I wouldn't hinge everything on that and buy a 212CC.
Therefore, people of Reddit, I'd appreciate your assistance. If you find the blueprint for the original engine, or reference me to a similar replacement engine, that'd be great. Thanks everyone!
