I just got a counteroffer on a house I made an offer on and they're asking a higher price than I offered, but they're offering to cover some of my closing costs. My realtor didn't have a super clear answer on whether I should push back harder on price or accept the deal with them covering costs. The math seems like the price difference is bigger than what I'd save on closing costs, but I'm wondering if there's something I'm not thinking about like tax implications or financing considerations that make closing cost coverage worth more than it looks on the surface?
