Need advice.
I bought a home in Florida, newly built 2025, I've had it for almost a year got it inspected before signing the contract. There were major flaws that before signing, visible to the naked eyes and some overtime I've noticed, with the promise of it being addressed being signing. You live and learn but after signing the majority wasn't addressed and what was addressed with half assed. I'm only 24, first time home buyer and I felt I should have known better, and I felt my realtor wasn't the most helpful. Like the front and back doors have gaps visible light emit from outside the backdoor top lock would never close only the bottom, the contractor stated he "would use a machine to align it" but instead the changed the locks, "great" 🙄 now I have a extra key. Back to the gap on the backdoor, the seal they used sucked and when I brought my cat to the new home she shredded it on top of that so even more water got in. The bottom of the backdoor frame seemed to have been exposed to the elements for awhile before closing. As partially shown in the MLS photo, the inspector didn't point that out. The contractor won't accept liability, using the excuse that my cat was the cause of it. We've had electrical issues before, about two months in, they've supposedly replaced it now it's happening again, every now and then though not as severely. The permit/floor plan had air vents included in the plans for all three closets but in reality that's not the case it's only included in the master closet. They stated, I'd have to pay for it, to add insult to injury, the two other vent thingy are still in plastic somewhere in the house. Sorry for the long post, first time ever posting on reddit and asking for advice. The contractor is unprofessional overall. I love the house, but I hate talking to that person. I just want to know if I get it reinspected will force them to comply. There's more to explain but... Thanks in advance
