hey everyone! i'm an incoming undergrad studying neuroscience, interested in careers related to neurotechnology.

i'm curious about two things and would love your guys's insight:

1. what do careers in neurotech look like? give me the whole spectrum
2. what skills should one build to be successful in this field?

i'm between this and medicine. the only upset between the two are the lack of clarity i have in the former's career outcomes / pathways.

for those of you who are MD's, and have went through this process, how are research outcomes valued by med school admissions committees?

to make this question less broad, i've assembled a few bullets:

• does higher authorship make a meaningful difference, and if so, to what extent across the order?
• how do papers compare to abstracts, posters, and presentations in value?
• is the rigor of your journal/conference meaningfully considered?
• how do these viewpoints vary from MD program to MD program?
• curious to hear about MD/PhD programs as well, i'm vaguely considering them in the future

i'd also like to hear any advice you'd have for undergraduate researchers like myself. always happy to borrow some wisdom.
