BlazorGraphs 3.0 is now available!

Hello everyone, after a lot of work, I'm happy to announce the release of the new version 3.0 of BlazorGraphs. As mentioned in the previous post, I've tried to include in this major release a series of breaking changes I had in mind, as well as others recommended directly by you.

I've mainly merged the namespaces, renamed some components, added new ones, and redone the linecharts (as you can see in the gif). You also have more freedom in choosing colors. Without boring you with a list of all the changes, you can view the changelog directly on the website or in the Git repository.

I know you wanted the site with the live demo and the best-looking tooltips; don't worry, I'll take care of that as soon as possible.

I'm available for any clarification; just ask here in the comments.

I hope you like this new version, hello everyone.

BlazorGraphs new Major version soon! What to expect (breaking changes)

Hi everyone, it's been a while since I've been in touch. I would have liked to write this post with the new major release ready, but I still need a few weeks to finalize the last details. So I thought it would be a good idea to give you a preview of the most important changes I'm making.

(And yes, obviously JS is forbidden here – this is pure C# with SVG rendering!)

Breaking Changes

  • Component Renames (for clarity and standardization):

    • BarChart ➡️ VerticalBarChart (makes it clear it's the vertical variant)
    • PolarChart ➡️ PolarAreaChart (frees up space for future polar chart types)
    • LinearGauge ➡️ HorizontalGauge (standardizes the naming convention)
  • Removals:

    • LegendBar has been completely removed.
    • Obsolete components and orientation parameters are gone.
    • Enums have been totally removed from the library as they are no longer needed.
  • Architecture & Namespaces:

    • LineChart went through a total refactor (component, datamodel, and data structures).
    • Namespaces will be streamlined down to just two:
      • BlazorGraphs: The root namespace with all datamodels and structures needed to configure your charts.
      • BlazorGraphs.Component: Housing all the charts, gauges, and legend components.

New Components

Thanks to the Linechart refactory, I also added new charts:

  • ScatterChart
  • SteplineChart
  • BubbleChart

Refactoring

I also refactored the Axis rendering to improve code maintenance and reduce duplication. You won't notice any visual difference since the final output remains identical, but if you're curious, you can already check out the code in the develop branch of the repository.

I'm still polishing a few other things. If you have any feedback, feature requests, or ideas, now is the perfect time to let me know so I can consider including them before the final release!

Hello to everyone and I hope you're enjoying the library.

BlazorGraphs 2.4: new Gauges (No JS)

Hello everyone, a new version and new components for the BlazorGraphs library.

This time, I wanted to focus my efforts on gauges. Here is what's new:

  • Added Speedometer
  • Added Vertical Gauge
  • Added 'Reverse' boolean parameter to the Linear and Vertical gauges to draw the axis on the opposite side

As per the project roadmap, I have introduced LegendHorizontal and LegendVertical components.

  • These new components replace the old LegendBar.
  • The LegendBar component is still available in this release but is now marked as [Obsolete]

I hope you enjoy this update! I look forward to reading your comments, suggestions, and critiques, so don't be shy!

BlazorGraphs 2.3 is out! Now with full Theme support (No JS)

Hi everyone, It's time for a new version of BlazorGraphs, the lightweight and blazor native svg charting library. The core principle remains the same: absolutely zero JavaScript dependencies.

In this release, I focused on adding full customization through a dedicated Theme system.

What’s new in v2.3:

The Theme Struct: You can now pass a Theme configuration directly as a parameter to your charts, gauges and legends. It allows you to customize the background color, axis color, text color, and font family.

Built-in Themes: Added static properties for quick styling, such as Theme.Light and Theme.Dark.

Null/Default Handling: If you pass a partially empty theme, the library doesn't break. It delegates the fallback to the browser engine using native properties:

- BackgroundColor defaults to transparent

- TextColor and AxisColor fallback to currentColor

- FontFamily defaults to inherit

I Would love to hear your feedback on this architectural approach, especially regarding the currentColor inheritance! What charting features or components would you like to see next?

BlazorGraphs 2.2 is out now

Hi everyone, I've released the new version of the BlazorGraphs library.

As I mentioned in the previous post, in this release I've focused on bar charts, so you can now choose a secondary color if you want to distinguish negative from positive bars.

I hope you enjoy these new features, and I look forward to reading your comments.

I'm curious to know if any of you have tried downloading and using the library in the past few days. How are you finding it?

BlazorGraphs: new chart library for blazor (no js)

Hi everyone, I'm working on a free charting library for Blazor without javascript.

I started this project out of personal curiosity, and then I thought it could be an opportunity to turn it into a small Nuget package that could be useful to others.

I'd love some feedback from the community, whether you're interested in it, have suggestions for improvement, or just want to try it out.

I'll leave you with some useful links.
