Does Anyone remember Friendly’s Pink Lemonade Sherbet?
This has been driving me crazy because I can't find a single picture of it online!
I was born in 2001 and grew up in Maine. When I was a little girl, my family used to buy this pink lemonade-flavored ice cream/sherbet from Friendly's at Hannaford's, asking for it every single night for a Summer, and then I remember it being quickly discontinued. I remember it being solid pink and coming in the traditional rectangular Friendly's ice cream carton.
I've been trying to find pictures of it for years, but it's like it never existed. I recently found out that Friendly's apparently made a pink lemonade sherbet called "Pink Kahuna" as part of their Team Xtreme line, so I'm wondering if that's what I'm remembering.
It was a light, pastel pink, almost salmon-colored, and completely uniform in color. No swirls or other flavors mixed in. Despite being pink, I remember it tasting entirely like lemon, with no noticeable strawberry or raspberry flavor.
I have a pretty good recall and I don't recall any specific branding (nothing hawaiian themed, nothing indicating a different "line" of products) other than possibly lemon slices. I don't even think I recall anything deviating from the simple label of "Pink Lemonade," but I know it was Friendly's.
I've never really liked any fruit-flavors aside from citrus (lemon, lime, orange, tangerine). I was even more strict about this when I was a kid so I'd never have been caught dead with any other sherbets like watermelon, strawberry, or raspberry.
Does anyone else remember this flavor, especially anyone who grew up in New England in the 2000s? Even better, does anyone have an old picture of the carton or remember what it looked like? This is the only one of my nostalgia foods that I somehow can't find.
I just want confirmation that this wasn't some weird childhood fever dream lol
