Night ride!

I had my first *intentional* night right tonight. It was so great. The air felt perfect, the trails were nice and smoothly paved, I only felt a little spooked going down a couple hills on a portion of trail I'd not been on before. I had a flashlight that I mount on my bike with me, but I turned it off on a few portions of the trail just to enjoy the darkness. On the way back though, I had the idea to see if I could mount the lights on my board instead, and it actually worked better than I had expected! Turning seems to point the light in the direction I'm going, though I'm not sure if that's just because I'm turning at that point. I dunno, but it's amazing. I definitely plan on doing these more often.

The crazy thing is, I've gone around 35 miles in the past four days, and I've not even gotten close to tired at any point. My breathing picked up pushing up hills, but then I'm right back to normal at the top. I will say, my lead foot was getting pretty tired, my heel was getting sore towards the turn around point, and my toes were starting to get numb interestingly enough. Also, the inside of my pushing thigh is currently a little sore, but it's kind of been growing into that soreness slowly over the past few days. So, I also started practicing pushing with my lead foot, and that's going surprisingly well so far, I'm a little unstable that way, but not close to how I thought I would. It's not gonna take me too long before I'm alternating pushing with my lead and follow foot. And then I learn how to switch feet. That's definitely gonna be a little weird. I tried it a little bit on yesterday's ride on a stretch of very empty road off the side of the m-6 trail.

My third long distance ride

Had a really nice ride up and down the m-6 trail in Grand Rapids today a few hours after a storm came through, it was so nice. Got a new landyachtz drop deck from Zumiez yesterday, and this new one feels like a dream in comparison to the one I got second hand from an ex a couple years ago. I barely got tired even after having ridden probably close to twenty miles in the past three days. Route and board pics plus doggo. Also, can anyone suggest a good way to carve the grip tape into a neat design without cutting into the wood underneath? I wanna keep this beauty pristine as long as I can.
