The accumulation phase feels undertalked compared to everything else here

Something ive been thinking about is how much content here assumes youve already built the base. The messy accumulation phase where you're actually getting there as a Canadian gets way less attention than decumulation and withdrawal strategy. TFSA room, FHSA timing, when to prioritize RRSP over non registered, it all matters a lot during the climb but nobody really talks about it.

Talk about your accumulation phase actually looks like and what do you wish you had known earlier about sequencing these accounts?

Why is every budgeting app and financial tool built for Americans

using budgeting tools as a Canadian much of the advice and software is built around American accounts and tax rules. Roth IRA comparisons when you have a TFSA, 401k talk when you have an RRSP, no mention of the FHSA anywhere.

Curious if others feel like they're constantly translating foreign financial advice to fit their situation and what resources you've actually found that feel built for us.

I've been lurking here for a while and wanted to share something that actually helped me understand my TFSA room properly.

Most people don't realize your contribution room accumulates from the year you turn 18 even if you never opened a TFSA. So if you're 25 and never contributed you have way more room than you think. Check your exact number on CRA My Account, takes two minutes and most people are surprised by it.

Anything you guys wish you knew earlier about TFSA room that would have saved you a headache?
