Looking for opinions on return/keep
Just got a pair from Caswell. New brand to me but I have about 40-50 pairs of heritage boots and shoes. They must have had a random Danville Cinnamon Horserump in their inventory that landed on last call. My size, my color and have been looking for something horse. Perfect.
Problem is the tongue is gusseted and there is waaaay too much extra leather and it creases right on my ankle bones. Makes the boot look a little funny when tied and hurts like hell. I’ve decided it’s highly unlikely that breaking in will solve. Tried folding it and that just creates a different pain point. Love the boot and fit beyond that piece.
Do I just cut back the gusset a bunch to improve the fit or just return them? Have any of you had this problem? Ever edited your boot yourself like that?
