9+ years in IT support, MD-102 certified – struggling to get interviews. What am I doing wrong with my CV?

Hi everyone,

I’d really appreciate some honest feedback on my CV. I’m a UK citizen and based in the UK.

I have 9+ years of IT experience, mainly in desktop support, endpoint management and Microsoft environments. My current/most recent experience has involved Microsoft Intune, Entra ID, Windows Autopilot, Microsoft 365, Windows/macOS and general enterprise desktop support.

I recently achieved the MD-102 certification and I’m now looking to move beyond traditional desktop support into roles such as:

Endpoint Engineer
EUC Engineer
Modern Workplace / Microsoft 365 Engineer
Senior IT Support Engineer

However, I’ve always struggled to get interviews despite applying for roles where I believe I meet most of the requirements. My recent contract also ended, so I’m currently actively looking for my next role.

I’m particularly interested in feedback on:

Does my CV actually demonstrate enough technical experience for Endpoint/EUC/Modern Workplace roles?
Am I positioning myself too much as IT support rather than an Endpoint/Modern Workplace Engineer?
Are there any obvious weaknesses or red flags that would stop you interviewing me?
What roles would you realistically target with this experience?
Is there anything you’d remove, add or rewrite?

I’ve anonymised the CV for privacy, including company names, exact job titles, dates and university.

I’m looking for honest criticism rather than reassurance, so feel free to be blunt. Thanks.

What next after MD-102? MS-102, SC-300 or AZ-104?

Hi all,

Just looking for some advice. I recently passed MD-102 and was planning to study MS-102 next.
However, I’ve seen some information suggesting that MS-102 may be retired in October, so I’m wondering whether it’s still worth pursuing.
Would I be better off doing SC-300 or AZ-104 next instead?

I’m currently working in desktop/endpoint support and would like to move towards a more senior M365 / Modern Workplace / Cloud role.
Any advice on which certification would provide the best progression after MD-102 would be appreciated.
