Hoping for some advice on this quotes I’ve had for solar.

Based in Adelaide, already have a 6.6kw panel system with no battery.
In winter with heater we are buying about 1000kwh/month and selling 150kwh to the grid. Past 2 months power bill has been >$500!
This will only go up as we are getting an EV and pool pump in the coming months.

Planning on getting another 5kw of panels (no more north facing roof real estate), EV charger, mandatory inverter upgrade (have been upsold 15kw inverter, but only a few hundred extra), and 24kwh battery (option 2).

At this point I don’t think bigger battery will be economical, but happy to be convinced otherwise.

Recently bought an old house in SA with a (relatively modern) extension.
In the extension, there is one wall where the floor boards (i think engineered timber) do not meet the wall. This wall has a built-in gas fireplace interrupting the skirting.
The problem is that there is a gap between the floorboards and the wall. It drives me nuts and I want to fix it.

Parts of this wall have scotia (i think around 15mm), the build-in fireplace doesn’t. The gap is irregular - at worst there is a 30mm gap between the floorboards and the existing skirting, at best about 2-3mm.
The other walls of the room have this 15mm scotia and there is no issue with gaps.

What is the best way to fix this? Will 30mm scotia look too bulky? Skirting extension?

Appreciate any advice - no DIY/trades background so very new to this!
