How can I send money to my future in-laws with out making it seem like I’m treating them like a charity case
Hello,
Engaged to a Cameroonian man and he comes from a poor family. We both live in the west. I know his family is struggling and sometimes I want to send money but I am worried that they will feel like I’m treating them like a charity case. My fiancé tells me not worry about that but he has younger brother and sisters who I speak to often who are so kind and respectful towards me and I want to show my appreciation for welcoming me so warmly into his family. I would also like to send money sometimes to his mom as well but I don’t want this mom to think I am trying to buy her approval/love. When we were dating I would send his mom money through my fiancé and tell him not to tell her it’s from mom but my fiancé ignored me and told her anyway(that’s another story) and she knew it came from me, she just acted like she didn’t know it was from me. Now that’s we are engaged I can just send it to her. Any tips on how to do this? I also don’t want them to think I have a lot of money cause I’m here in the west.
