Unfair criticism of Ibiza

I've been in Ibiza 3 times this summer and I think some of the criticism about phones and lack of dancing isn't fair.

Firstly, some of these people no longer go to Ibiza and were there when it was more underground. When young people pay a lot of money to go to Ibiza and buy tickets they are going to want to record some memories on their phones.

What I see more of in the clubs is that some people are less willing to express themselves and dance in a carefree way compared to years ago. We could discuss the reasons for that more. Even if I take a video I'm still dancing while I'm doing it.

Also, the parties that I've been at this year have been excellent. A few clubs come in for unfair criticism of not being 'underground' enough. Interestingly when I did go to a phone free night at 528 the vibe was really dead and a lot of people were standing around chatting rather than dancing. And that seems to be one of the clubs that gets spoken highly of by the same people who criticise people who use their phones.

Ibiza should be for everyone and I like that it has become more international. I think the absolute minimum is that you love the music but after that I have no issue if people want to record a few short videos (not the whole thing).

I think with every generation there is the sense that it was better when we were younger. On the other hand Ibiza didn't previously have the phenomenal production, facilities, sound and visuals that it has now.

Let's come together as a music community and unite because we need Ibiza now more than ever given the state of the world.

Looking forward to the opening parties already! Peace and love.
