Game over, guys

Little-known fact: Tennessee football has not won at Razorback Stadium in 20 years.

That includes the 2024 game, when No. 4 Tennessee lost to an unranked Arkansas team despite being favored by 13.5 points—a win that likely bought Sam Pittman another year.

Ironically, Tennessee comes to Fayetteville this Saturday favored by the exact same 13.5 points.

If you’re looking for reasons to believe Arkansas can pull another upset, stop. There is no chance. None.

That 2024 Arkansas team was bad by SEC standards, but it was still SEC-caliber football. This team is not. It looks like a junior-level program: noncompetitive, underprepared, and led by a coaching staff that continues to underwhelm and underdeliver.

Game over, folks. The good news? There are plenty of other exciting college football games to watch Saturday afternoon.

Three observations from yesterday's win of UNA

  1. Offense line is major concerns: could not create big run opportunities for runbacks.

  2. KJ Jackson needs to step up to be the leader of the team. Understandably this is the first game with lots of eyes watching, take some get used to. I got it, but time is tight, he needs to speed up this get used to in a hurry.

  3. Defense is worse than its looks. Many people sees improvement over last season on D, they may be. However, playing a far less opponent like UNA, defense still managed to give away one big play. Two other big plays due to blowed coverage in the deep did not materialize simply because UNA could not connect (their receivers were wide open). Razorbacks would not have this luxury when they play the rest of the season. Every opponents will make you pay if you blow coverage again. Defense needs to be strengthened in a hurry.

This could be a long season with another 2-10 in the making? I hope not, but I have concerns.
