Who do we contact if we have questions regarding retirement? Not sure when I want to retire and would like to get some information to help me decide. I work at FDA.

Is it appropriate to include the word “in” when using “verbatim” before quoted text blocks? Or should I drop the word “in”?

Example:
The research paper states (in verbatim):
[indented text block here]

Bonus points if you can point me to a resource that explains your answer (so I have something to take to my bosses!)
